it used to be one of my favourites when i was younger, but it also really terrified me.
i didn’t find out the real story until i was about 10 years old and i begged my mom to buy me this book called “To Be a Princess..”. the only reason i wanted it was because it had a chapter on Elizabeth I and her sister Mary I. then i got to the chapter about the Nikolayevna princesses and my mind was blown. I didn’t realize that Anastasia was actually based off a real princess. this year i learned more about the Russian Revolution in my canadian history class, and it all started making more sense.
it’s funny how much you learn when you grow up, and how little you knew when you were younger.
i wonder how differently i’ll see the movie considering how much more i know about it now. hopefully, i’ll love it even more.
